1. Main Components of the Motion Controller

Currently, AC servo motors typically utilize three closed-loop control strategies—current control, position control, and speed control—which play an indispensable role in the overall control system.

Gate machine servo drives and motor inverters primarily rely on the switching action of power semiconductor devices to convert the mains supply into electrical energy at a different frequency, thereby enabling control over AC motors. This includes asynchronous motor starting, variable-frequency speed regulation, speed increase, precision adjustment, power-factor improvement, and more. Inverters can drive both inverter-specific motors and standard AC motors, with the primary function of regulating motor speed. Typically, an inverter consists of four main components: a rectifier unit, a high-capacity DC-link capacitor, an inverter, and a controller.
Servo drives for turnstiles are widely used in everyday life, and their operating principle is essentially the same as that of variable-frequency drives for speed control. Their performance is primarily determined by factors such as the motor’s rotational speed, the frequency of the induction motor, the slip rate, and the motor itself. In fact, motor control is generally achieved by regulating voltage; however, brushless DC motors employ electronic commutation, which means that only with digital control can simple and effective control be realized.
